The Type-A USB3.1 receptacles will not work unless you connect the LG Type-C port via additional C-C cable (to Type-C host) or C-A cable to a regular USB-A host port. You can connect the monitor via Type-C port to a Type-C host (using C-C cable), if the host supports Display Port video over Type-C.When working in "Mac Mode" I have no issues connecting to either monitor as they both have dedicated USB-C connections to the iMac. When I boot in to boot camp, I get a lot of screen flickering on both displays. Once that stabilizes, the LG 27UK850 displays at the appropriate resolution but the LG 43MU79-B displays at 1080P or worse.
Support for USB Type-C enables charging for the latest laptops up to 94W, fast data transfers, and display connection. It is also compatible with Mac devices*. Just one cable can realise an ideal, efficient workstation."
If both laptops worked with the 346p1crh, that does seem to indicate either the laptop and/or the 38WN95C have an issue with TB3 PD support when the laptops switch power sources (the 346p1crh seems like a USB-C DP/PD display, not a TB/DP/PD display). The 38WN95C menus don't appear to support disabling (EDIT: should say "not using" instead
