The older 1150 RT had a water pump issue around 50k mi but the 1200 and the 1250 haven't really had any consistent issues. On top of that, the rt is one of the most popular bikes bmw makes. R1200RT (2007) bought last year with 24000, came with issues from neglect. Fixed, just turned 34000 in a year.
I have seen posts on problems with the BMW app and with vibrations and heat damaging some phones, but no list of phones which work well with the R1250RT. Essential specs seem to be: Size: The bike user manual says to fit into the right hand storage compartment cradle, up to 162 x 78 x 8.8mm = diagonal 7.08 inches. Network: 5G.
Of note, when your low beam dies one of your high beams will come on to buy you some time until you can get to a place to change the low beam. Here's what's happening w/ the clip arrangement, which presumably is the same on your 1250 as my '16 1200RT: Screen-Shot-2017-12-07-at-8-43-37-PM.jpg.
In the process of adding some extras to my new 2019 R1250RT and it would be really beneficial if BMW had schematics for the removal of the fairing pieces that shows all the anchor points and the type of Torx screw bolts required for each location, it's a pain in the rear end to have to bag and tag each panels bolt assortment.
